Consumer Protection

We act for charities, small businesses and consumers, including bank customers and policy holders who have been stung by price fixing, mis-selling and scams by rogue traders. We practice in the UK, Europe and beyond.

We work with Government, court bodies, and consumer organisations to find ways for consumers and vulnerable groups to obtain better access to court based remedies through innovations in funding and court procedures.

We recently advised Consumer Focus in their negotiations with energy supplier Npower, ultimately resulting in a refund of £63million to customers who had been overcharged.

Ingrid Gubbay was previously the Principal Campaigns lawyer for Which?, the largest consumer organisation in the EU. Whilst at Which? Ingrid was responsible for bringing the first collective consumer action in the EU in the field of competition law.
